YEAR 5 CAMP

I jumped out of bed because I knew it was the day, the day I was dying for. It was the day of day of days !!!I came to school all pumped and ready.  We transformed some of the things from our big bag to our small bag because it was the day we were going to Sonshine Ranch !!!   We all went into the bus and music was blasting and all you could hear was loud chatter and flashing of cameras. Everybody was at the edge of their seats. When we got there everybody was yelling with excitement because we were finally there at Sonshine Ranch!

Surfing Extreme

Feeling the rippling water as I jump onto my surf board. The soft breeze brushing the loose bits of hair back. On the horizon a big blue wave was approaching me. My confidence grew wider as I padddled closer. I couldn't help myself from racing to the huge white surf.  I started paddling towards the big wave. One metre away I duckdived underneath the first wave and went for the biggest white surf of all time in Hawaii. Picking up my pace, getting closer and closer, paddling and paddling, I stood up and sprays of water splashed into my ears.

The Zoo

Gates swallowing people one by one
clenching their teeth after everyone.

Rubbish bins chew garbage,
rattling for more food.

Speakers arguing until the day is done.

Cages pose at the cameras
showing off their grey teeth.

Trees dance to the animal's noises.

The tune of the elephants
blowing their trumpets in harmony.

Dolphins doing a thousand laps of free style.

Lions showing off their hair going down the catwalk.

The Zoo is a quirky place to be!

THE RIVER

The tiny waves flip about on the trampoline, while having the time of their lives.
The water flows like birds soaring across the sky, calling others to join them.
The rocks are holding back the criminals while fish and eels drive around in their sports cars.
The crystal blue water, attracts the eye of the magpie, guiding him to his destination.
Plants drift down screaming as they're being pulled down the river.
Rocks and crystals squint their eyes as the light beams across them.

The Rope Swing
As I got on the swing I was so scared! When I was pushed I said "Woah!!!" It looked like I was going to hit the tree. Luckily I didn't. After this a man clipped me off and once we all got a turn in both Flying Fox and Swing we moved on to Lunch Time. Then we went Kyaking and after dinner we went to bed. The next day we went horse riding and Animal Feeding and patting. Then we went to the boars and the lambs. The brown one was cute and the white one was doing something unmentionable and the female one was too!! After that we went to the tunnels and the rock climbing wall. I went in the tunnel and I was one of the first to come out of the tunnel. I was very proud of myself. I almost made the rock climbing wall, but then I fell off and I got almost to the top. Then we left Sonshine Ranch. We put all bags and stuff in the bus and we went back to Botany Downs Primary School. We had Fun. BN

Wonders of the forest

Hairless trees bare their rotten teeth
as they moan amongst the forest.
Mud puddles shiver to the sound of a
wolves howl.
Swamps swallow toads that travel on
lilypads while spitting out nasty weeds.
The wind whistles along as owls speak
of their faith.
Endangered species shout out to the
forest.
Cursing humans for their loss.
Animals sceam while clinging to
moanful trees before humans take
them away.

The movies

The popcorn jumps in excitement from their cups.
Chairs start to relax on their backs watching the movies.
The curtains wave goodbye as the people leave.
The lights flutter away like butterflies.
The icecream melts in sadness because he got dumped.
The projector spins its wheel to make a movie.
The drinks blow themselves up after they are shaken up.

Space

Sun blazes in space.

Asteroids tumble head-over-heels;
Whizzing across galaxies.

Stars watch from the sidelines-
Comets ice-skate across the
Milky Way's ice rink.

Around the moon
Satellites lie in their beds of gravity.

Aliens cruise in spaceships;
Their engines humming
To rock tunes.

Planets stare;
At rockets riding meteors
Like cowboys.

Black holes devour everything
In their path.
The universe keeps a straight face
As galaxies wade inside it.

The Camp Monster

The Camp Monster

A camp monster in Year 5's girls' bivouc.
I was startled as a grouchy, low voice muttered quietly "Be quiet".
We all ducked and dived under our sleeping bags as a dark, grey, shadowy figure started to slowly move towards us.
All the girls in the foresty bivouac were shivering, our hearts pounding in our cold chests!
Suddenly the scary figure shone a big, blinding light in our widened eyes.
We looked blindly at the monster, but, as we looked closely.... all we could see was our teacher!!!

The SuperMarket at night

The conveyorbelts slowly shuffling on the wheels.

Lights baring their yellow teeth every few seconds.

beeping alarms sceaming in the darkness.

Items jumping off shelves in shock.

What a scary place to be.

Trolleys yelling "I need oil!" while racing in and out of isles.

Test stations warming up.

Cool rooms making stalactites.

I wonder what it would look like in daylight!!
